MEET ANOTHER TEAM QUALIFIED THROUGH THE SSL RANKING
The road to the SSL Gold Cup Final Series continues as we introduce another nation that has earned its place through the SSL Ranking.
SSL Team Singapore, known as the Guardians of the Bay, has secured its place among the teams competing in the Round 1 of 32 of the Final Series. Ranked 40th, Singapore now has the opportunity to take on the world’s best sailing nations and represent the Little Red Dot on one of sailing’s biggest international stages.
YOUNG TEAM, BIG AMBITION
From junior sailing and international championships to the Olympic Games, the team combines a new generation of athletes with sailors who have spent years competing on the international stage.
At the heart of the squad is captain Jovina Choo OLY, whose sailing career spans more than two decades. Alongside her are sailors including Daniella Ng, Bernie Chin and Ryan Lo OLY, bringing together Olympic experience, championship titles and a shared ambition to represent Singapore on the world stage.
BUILT ON CONNECTION
One of Singapore’s greatest strengths is the connection between its sailors.
Many of them have known each other since childhood, growing up, training and competing together. That shared history creates something that cannot be built overnight – trust.
And in the SSL Gold Cup, where every manoeuvre, decision and race depends on the people onboard, that connection can make all the difference.

THE ROAD TO RIO
Grandson has already become a familiar place for the Guardians of the Bay.
The team previously trained at the SSL Training Centre in 2022 and returned again this season to continue its preparations ahead of the Final Series. The hours spent on Lake Neuchâtel have helped the sailors build their rhythm, strengthen their teamwork and prepare for the challenge ahead.
Now, their focus turns towards Brazil.
The 2026 SSL Gold Cup Final Series will mark Singapore’s first appearance at this stage of the competition. Starting in the Round 1 of 32, the Guardians of the Bay will take on the world’s sailing nations from 19 to 22 November, fighting for the chance to continue their journey.
